Hi, I’m Oliver Timperley, a 21 year old digital artist and animator with a passion for pixel art. In the summer of 2021, I graduated with a degree in Graphics and Animation and I’M now focussed on developing my profile and career in the NFT art community.

Here you will find more about me and my art.

From childhood I was always creative sitting for hours at the kitchen table drawing, colouring and making things. In 2014 I ventured into graphic design using Photoshop to create designs for social media in particular YouTube banners. As I learned more and became more proficient, I started a YouTube channel and over the next four years I created hundreds of tutorial videos on how to use Photoshop and built a large community of 40,000 subscribers.

My degree studies took me away from the regular uploads, but it’s something I’d like to return to in the future. I like teaching and helping others.

When did you develop your passion for pixel art?

At college and university, I was exposed to many different styles of art and animation, but somehow, I really connected with pixel art.

I grew up playing Pokémon and take my inspiration from pixel based games and Anime films and artwork. I love the retro feel of pixel art.

At its most basic level pixel art is simple and accessible, but it also has huge depth and many variations, and I am forever learning.

I suppose I’m known for my use of bright and vibrant colours and fun pieces. Whether the piece is based in the daytime or at night I like to make them eye-catching and interesting.

I hope you enjoyed learning a little about me. If you have a question, feel free to reach out to me anytime on TWITTER @TIMPERSHD.
